Be sure to scroll down to see the entire document.

Rules:

  1. Raise your hand before you speak or leave your seat.
  2. Follow all directions.
  3. Be respectful of teachers and other adults (as well as each other).
  4. Keep hands, feet, and other objects to yourself.
  5. Be prepared for class and keep your area neat.
  6. Agenda books (planners) must be signed every day.

Behavior Plan

Procedure:  We will use a pocket chart with student numbers.  It will be a basic green, yellow, and red card system.

Consequences:

  1. Verbal Warning -- I have students put a yellow stick in the pocket chart to remind them of the warning.
  2. Yellow - Lose 10 minutes of recess.
  3. Red - Lose all of recess and note to parent in Planner
  4. A pattern of "red" will require a parent conference or meeting.
  5. Severe misconduct will be referred to the office for appropriate action.

Note:  When planners are not signed, a "yellow" card is turned, students lose 10 minutes of recess, and it does count towards conduct grades.

Rewards:

A ticket system (All-Star Chance Box) will be used for random rewards for good behavior.  Daily drawings will be held to reward students with "bean bag chair time" or other motivational activities/treasures.

Marbles will be put in the class marble jar every day that all students remain on green.  Marbles are also given when the class behaves exceptionally well.  When the jar is full, we will have a class treat.

Conduct Grades:

Conduct grades will be determined by the number of cards a student must pull during the nine weeks.  A yellow card is 1, a red card is 2, and an office referral is 3 (no color assigned).

S in conduct = 0 - 9 cards

N in conduct = 10 - 18 cards

U in conduct = 19 or more

**The teacher can use discretion in cases where the infraction is severe.

My goal is to make sure that we have a safe and comfortable environment for each child to learn.  I hope that we can all work together to achieve this objective.
